Ingredients
- 2 lb Dry Red Beans
- 2 cup Ketchup
- ½ cup Brown Sugar
- Dash of Salt (two shakes)
- Chopped Ham to Taste
- Juice of Cooked Ham (If no ham juice, then use the bean juice by itself)
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350°
- Cook dry beans in water in a kettle on the stove until they are soft (approx. 30 – 45 minutes)
- Drain the beans, but save the bean water
- Put the beans in an oven safe container
- Add remaining ingredients and mix well
- Add the ham juice and bean juice to the desired consistency
- Bake for one hour in the oven
- At 45 minutes check the beans to ensure the correct consistency
