BBQ Sauce

A smith family recipe that is sure to make your next BBQ a blast.

Ingredients
  • 1 gal Tomato Paste
  • 1 pt Cooking Oil
  • 1 pt Cider Vinegar
  • 24 oz Brown Sugar (1 ½ lbs)
  • 2 large Diced Onions
  • ¼ cup Salt
  • 1 Tbsp Black Pepper
  • 3 cloves Chopped Garlic OR 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • ¼ cup Dry Mustard mixed with water into paste
  • 2 Tbsp Liquid Smoke
  • 3 oz Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tbsp Red Pepper Flakes
  • 4 tsp Tabasco Sauce
  • 4 oz Dark Molasses
  • ¼ cup Meat Tenderizer
  • 12 oz Can of Beer
Directions
  1. Use large stove-top kettle
  2. Combine all ingredients except for the beer into the large kettle
  3. Simmer on medium-low heat, stirring often for around two hours
  4. When the onions are tender, add the beer
  5. Let simmer for another ½ hour to an hour
  6. Sauce is now ready to use
  7. (Optional) Can the sauce in a water bath
  8. (Optional) Freeze the sauce
